The biggest difference is local versus cloud transcription
VeloxWaves runs speech recognition locally. The raw audio used for dictation is processed on your machine, and the resulting transcript can remain in a local history and knowledge graph. Internet access is still used for practical services such as account status, billing, releases, and support, but not for the core speech-to-text path.
Wispr Flow takes a cloud-first approach. Its documentation says transcription always runs in the cloud.
